covers with iconic illustrations from the Golden Era of American
Illustration. These covers known as GGA, or Good Girl Art, and are
collectible both for their art and for their sassy and sometimes amusing
titles that conveyed just enough tease to titillate a prospective buyer.
Pulitzer Prize winning author Larry McMurtry has said about early
paperbacks, “Paperback covers, many very sexy, were the advance guard of the rapid breakdown of sexual restraint among the middle classes almost
everywhere."
